During 1997 while employed as a beer distributor in Key West Florida, Frank Mayer identified a new opportunity for brewers to market on-premise.

Frank observed consumers wrapping a napkin around their pint glasses because it absorbed the moisture offering a more comfortable grip. This sparked the idea of a cold beverage sleeve.
